La Cuchaule – Chef’s Pencil

La cuchaule is a saffron brioche in the shape of a flattened ball. It is one of the sweet dishes found on the table during the traditional festival of Bénichon. With the continuation of this festival, recipes have been passed down for generations. This saffron bread is often eaten for breakfast or as an appetizer. It is a typical bread that comes from the canton of Friborg.

All Friborg residents have eaten traditional cuchaule toast with butter and mustard. As unusual as it may sound, this mix of flavors is simply incomparable and can be a culinary discovery for you.
